Study and Assignment Specific Supports 


Congratulations on your decision to return to education. Learning is a lifelong pursuit and this is an important step in a journey of greater personal development and growth. You are joining the increasing numbers of adults who are re-entering education to improve their knowledge and skills for future education and employment options. 

While returning to learning is exciting and rewarding, it can also be challenging. Adult students bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their studies and to become successful independent learners they require effective study skills.  

Attached, please find a copy of the Adult Study Guides developed in collaboration with a number of Higher Education Institutions across Ireland. It contains many tips on managing your learning effectively, and many of our previous graduates have advised us how it was of benefit top them as they pursued their course of study. 

The Department of Lifelong Learning has created a number of Video Supports for students to assist them navigate their way around their Learning Experience here at AIT.  In particular, on this Step we have created a series of videos to support you develop your academic writing skills.  Click on any Topic below to learn more about that specific area:
