Step 4: TUS Library

Step 4 – TUS Library

Library and other academic supports available to you as you learn with us at the Technological University of the Shannon.

The library is at the heart of learning in TUS Midlands.

The library team are very excited to welcome you for the new semester. The team  are very much here to support you with accessing study space and personal computer booking facilities, collections on and off-campus, printing and  all supports that you need to succeed in your studies.

Library Opening Hours

The Library space in the main building will be open:
Monday – Friday from 9 am – 9.30 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 4.00 pm.

Opening hours for the full week and the rest of the term can be viewed at the live opening hours feed on the library homepage:  www.library.ait.ie

We would recommend that all students click on the library home page as soon as they become a student with us in TUS Midlands, as it is our belief that the sooner you start to optimise your use of the library, the greater your learning.

So, why not click on the library homepage now where you will learn how to:

  • Book a study space.

  • Search for journal articles, books and more.

  • Learn how to access e-books, download e-books and what happens when the borrowing period is up.

  • Learn about the library support functions.

  • Access past examination papers.

  • Receive training on how to search for relevant subject matter in a timely fashion.

  • How to use and search google scholar.

  • Ensure you reference correctly to avoid plagiarism.

Or indeed just ‘chat now’ with the ‘online virtual ask a librarian’ to assist you, as you study virtually online.  Once you are on the Library Home Page the little chat box appears on the RHS of the page.
