Welcome-Dean of Faculty
Welcome. I am delighted that you have chosen to look at our range of part-time flexible online programmes as offered through the Faculty of Continuing, Professional, Online and Distance Learning.

As you browse through the pages, you will see that we have a range of programmes covering many discipline areas, from undergraduate (NFQ L6- L8) and postgraduate (NFQ L9) programmes. All programmes, relevant to those of you considering future proofing their careers.  Our objective always to deliver relevant learning programmes to you, in a manner that suits your busy lives.

Through our unique relationship with our industry partners and considerations of future skill requirements research, all programmes on offer are designed through an evidence based approach. So, as you search for your next learning opportunity, be assured that if we have a programme that interests you, it will reflect current best practice and skills required in the specific academic area.

Indeed, in choosing your particular programme, I would ask that you ensure that you look at where the qualification might take you, including the type of work you might do using the qualification and more specifically is this where you want to go?  And, if you are unsure of the answer then please contact the Faculty, where a team of dedicated staff are available by telephone/email to advise you on your programme options.

Again this year, we will have a range of funded Springboard+ programmes and Human Capital Initiative programmes on offer (Note: Over 2000 learners attended such programs with us last year).  All funded programmes are available to all and depending on your employment or other circumstances, they are free or indeed require a maximum payment of 10%.   So be sure to take a look to see if there is one to suit you.

Wishing you the very best of luck as you search for the programme that best matches your needs.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the University for the 2022/2023 academic year, as we all work together to ensure we have relevant skills for the future of work.

See you in September!

Michael Tobin,

Dean of the Faculty of Continuing, Professional, Online and Distance Learning.
