Aim of Programme


The programme will equip learners with knowledge of advanced polymer materials for manufacturing areas such as the medical device, automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. Graduates will be prepared to specify, work with and test polymer materials in addition to gaining hands on process knowledge and an appreciation for new and emerging materials and process methods.

Minimum Entry Requirements


A level 8 award in an engineering / science discipline or a level 8 award in any discipline with 2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Applicants that do not have the requisite academic qualifications may gain entry to the programme via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in accordance with the institute’s policies.

1 year : 10 hour per week plus one week lab/practicals at the end of each semester. This may be on line or face to face. Dates to be confirmed.

This is a Springboard+ Funded Programme.

This programme will be fully funded for eligible unemployed applicants.

Eligible employed applicants will be 90% funded.  They will have to pay 10% directly to TUS

Induction


Induction for the 2022/2023 academic year takes place (online via Zoom) on Saturday 10th September from 930am to 1pm. In advance, you will be required to review Pre Induction reading material, available to you on www.aitflexiblelearning.ie.

During Induction, you will be given the opportunity to:

  • Meet your programme lecturers, programme co-ordinator and students
  • Overview of the programme handbook, programme’s modules, assessments and delivery timetable
  • Introduction to TUS operating systems including MS Office, Zoom, Moodle etc
  • Outline of the learning supports available to you during the programme
