Aim of Programme


The main objective of the level 6 Certificate in Manufacturing Technology is to provide learners from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to explore and develop their interest in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Device industries. This course will provide learners with the opportunity to further their skill, or re-skill and make a positive contribution to the economy through gaining an understanding of the dynamics of business and in particular from an industry perspective ensuring they are better at making decisions, solving problems and skilled for the workplace of the future.

Minimum Entry Requirements


(a) Mature applicants (applicants over 23 years of age) or 

(b) Leaving Certificate Grade D3/O6 in five subjects at ordinary level (or equivalent) to include mathematic and a language (Irish or English) or and equivalent second level qualification. 

(c) QQI Level 5: Full award with a minimum of eight modules. Distinctions required in three Science related modules.

AIT Induction Sessions will take place on Saturday 11th September 2021 9.30am to 1.00pm approx..  This will be a live online Induction and attendance is mandatory. 

All registered students will meet their lecturers and become acquainted with AIT operating systems, such as our online delivery platform, Zoom, Moodle, Rules and Regulations etc.

If approved for funding the programme will be free/part-funded to applicants that meet Springboard+ Funding Eligibility Criteria.
