Aim of Programme


The programme will provide you with an understanding of the key competencies involved in business analysis, as well as the theoretical concepts and practical aspects associated with the ICT industry.  It will enable you to develop a critical awareness of the strategies and methodologies used in providing computerised solutions to business-related problems. You will gain the ability and sensitivity to plan, design, implement and review a project using the necessary supervisory, interpersonal and project management skills.  You will also obtain a detailed understanding of the workings of commercial computerised systems and develop an analytical awareness of the implications, uses and potential of the internet as a tool for the development of e-business.

  • Object Oriented Software Development: Covering the fundamentals of object oriented software development.
  • Architecture, Operating Systems and Networks: concepts in the areas of Computer Architecture, Operating Systems and Data Networks.
  • Systems Analysis and Testing: Develop the students’ capacity to analyse and to solve problems in a systematic and rational manner.
  • Database Languages: Design a database, manipulate data using SQL, and implement security protocols.
  • Web and User Interface Design: To build Rich Internet Applications according to the web standards.
  • Software Development Specialism: Generic software data structures and algorithms to develop applications.
  • Advanced Databases.
  • Software Development Project: Undertake research and based on the research complete a software design project.
  • Work Based Capstone Project.

Registered students will meet their lecturers and become acquainted with AIT operating systems, such as our online delivery platform, Moodle, Rules and Regulations etc.
