Aim of Programme

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on spa, wellness, and lifestyle services nationally and internationally. However, more than ever, wellness services will be vital to the physical, emotional, and mental recovery of our communities as we embrace a new way of living healthily. It is essential that existing and prospective managers create new opportunities and practices that appeal to new and returning clients.

This module will

  • Support leisure, spa and wellness owners and employees to lead the leisure and spa industry through times of and disruption and beyond. This would include large, medium, and small enterprises as well as employed and self-employed wellness practitioners.
  • Enable participants to rise to the challenge involved in adapting protocols and offerings in order to evolve leisure and wellness services into the future.
  • Encourage review of existing services and workstreams to identify potential gaps in offerings and deliver safe, valuable, and unique lifestyle and wellness offerings to clients, highlighting competitive advantage and business development.
  • Identify smart and economical alternatives to existing offerings, focusing on financial value, lean operations, and nibble business practices.

Leisure and Spa Management has been a unique offering at AIT for a number of years and has supported the spa industry and its practitioners to develop strong leadership in this arena. There are as many opportunities as there are challenges in the industry – this module is well placed to support the participant to develop the skills necessary to meet those challenges and thrive.
